Cosmetic Dentistry: Before-and-After

Want to improve your smile?

Dental cosmetic procedures can surely improve your smile. They include:

  • Bridge,
  • Crown
  • Whitening
  • Veneer
  • Implants
  • Braces
  • Gum remodeling.

Dental bonding

Dental bonding involves applying resin to the teeth and then using a special type of light source to bond or harden the resin. Bonding is a relatively simple and inexpensive cosmetic dental procedure used to repair broken or broken teeth, change the shape of teeth, or replace amalgam fillings.

Veneer

The veneer is a thin shell used to cover the front surface of the tooth. They are highly customized and bonded to your teeth so that they can easily change their appearance. Veneers can be used to change the size, shape, color, or length of teeth. The finish will not change drastically like a crown, but the process is permanent and cannot be undone.

Crown

A crown is a cap placed on the damaged tooth. Crowns can be used to increase the strength of teeth or change their size or appearance. The crown can be made of metal, porcelain combined with metal, ceramic, or resin. Before placing the crown, file off the tooth to be covered. Then use gutta to fix the crown on the hanging tooth. The crown usually covers the tooth completely, but the inlay and three-quarters of the crown do not cover the original tooth.

Enamel molding

Enamel molding is a procedure used to correct small irregular teeth (such as uneven teeth or slightly crowded teeth). It’s fast and easy, and the results are immediate. Enamel forming can be combined with other procedures, including veneer, bonding, and teeth whitening.

Orthodontics (braces)

The application of orthodontics (braces) can correct the problem of incorrect teeth alignment. Braces can be used for adults or children, and work by applying pressure over time to adjust the alignment of the teeth. Pressure can also cause changes in the shape of the bone socket where the teeth are located.

Teeth whitening

Various professional treatments and over-the-counter products can be used to whiten teeth. Whitening agents include gels, strips, and trays, as well as procedures performed in the dentist’s office. It is best for yellowed teeth, but not for everyone. Whitening is best for people with healthy teeth without restoration. You can consult your dentist as he can determine whether whitening is a good option for you.

Compound filling

The natural, tooth-colored composite fillings are not as obvious as the old amalgam fillings. Sometimes fillings need to be replaced, and many people choose to use composite materials instead of fillings when they need to replace older fillings. Composite fillers wear well in small cavities, but they wear more easily than silver fillers in large cavities.

Reshaping gum

If the gum line is irregular or the teeth look too short, you can reshape the gum to improve your smile. During this process, a small portion of the gum tissue is removed. Excess bone tissue can also be removed. This process can be done on one or more teeth.
